I need to mention a "title" for my own convenience of searching later on; but I just stumbled over it because I know the beginning idea only ; Lots of ideas are jammed in the traffic ; really not sure who will overtake whom .My typing speed is -001, and ideas move almost like the speed of light but vanish more quickly than that from the mind, from the brain .so...........
I read the novel "Good Earth" of Pearl Buck at the age of early twenty, almost in my previous birth from now.It was mini novel. I was impressed so vividly by the very first chapter of description of preparing tea , that almost every morning, ( not only I remember), but visualize : how the tea-leaves unfurl in the boiling water of saucepan, and spread around to hide /cover water under the leaves ;the steam with aroma conveyed the message of warm hospitality to the other room where the old father-in-law with his friends were chatting!
This is what literature means! Which has the intrinsic power to flow with the blood of the reader to mesmerize the mind!... Since then perhaps I relish my regular morning tea from "GOOD EARTH""
The plot of the novel was based on China ,in 1940's.
Then I finished the whole series of Pearl Buck, available from a friend of my husband . I. neither knew the author's name before ,nor I used to read novel in English in India.
Now, I browse the titles and also read the summary of few novels that I get to know in the internet .It is ridiculous to know some fictions awarded as "best-selling" are not even up to the literary standard. I am really curious to know the criteria of choosing to be awarded! In business books are of course commercial product , But there must be some specific "CRITERIA " to distinguish any creative art from other commercial commodity product. Has intellectualism of judgement been cremated or buried deep under the burial ground of commercial yard?
"Creative art" should never be democratized. Plato,Aristotle,Chaucer Milton , Leonardo daVinci or Darwin created epochal, landmark in human history : only One per two millennium .
I watch PBS channel while I take breakfast and I feel sad to notice its deterioration of standard in several field compared to. the past .
I started writing "Blog " to practice "typing." I haven't improved because I didn't practice sincerely ;I take long time to write few lines.
My goal was to write something profound about cosmology from my Realization of mythology from the standpoint of scientific view . Thank my 'procrastination' that saved me to publish my research- product which is really profound ! I didn't know. that "internet" is the open market for the marathon of plagiarism .
I have valuable collections of datas from my Realization. ; but scattered and disorganized .Those were all in pen and paper . My old diaries and note books were moved in the garage of Calcutta when the car was sold before coming in US. Last time,( 3 years ago) I fixed a contractor to repair the door of the garage and clean it. but not to damage the carton-box containing notebooks. Before coming back to US I supervised the garage and paid the contractor . I enquired the carton-box containing my diaries and notebook ( which spilled -grey matter from Realization).The contractor scratched his head to remember and replied reluctantly "They were taken by the cleaning man collecting trash .
I should move the box prior to give him key.I was shocked and dumb; It flashed in me how Isaac Newton lamented ,"O Pluto, if you know what have you done!"
Pluto was the name of Newton's pet; the poor animal turned over the candle-stand over the bundle of his whole research papers to burn it into ashes, as it jumped to embrace its master out of joy .
I lost my wish and good will on internet. In the beginning it was as thrilling as romantic love ;I believe "Google ' as super power ; I composed even some music of my own lyric about google .I didn't know long time that there are many competitive browsers.
I have been a slow reader now. Lots of books are published every week ;a few are impressive . Themes of fictions or novels. are based on typical frame :victim of cancer, rape or holocaust ,drug, smuggling murder. etc .
I still love to read. old children's books : Cindrella, Little Red Riding hood, Alice in Wonderland , Robinson cruseo, Mr Jekyll and Hyde, Treasure Island, Gulliver's Travels , Oliver Twist etc. Every week lots of books including children's. comic books are published but not as impressive as those old one. Children are happy to know and spend time with aliens or legos ! They don't like even to hear family stories from. their grand -ma or seniors .
