Hey, son of devil, Covid-19!
You surpass all the previous viruses
In your demonic power and perilous nature,
Like an elusive enemy you enter
In disguise of simple cough and fever
The innocent body and then capture;
Raising your hood and fang to spread
Your invisible venom to far and near
To play merciless Dance on Death, for your pleasure!
You marked the era with dreadful vice---
Death of fortune, death of dream, death of lives!
Doctors, nurses, researchers, are relentlessly engaged
To fight and drive the mass- fear and demolish your power;
To our dismay, only the chilling news of deaths in numbers
Still now you are reigning as pandemic, a deadly killer!
Delivery boys of grocery, medicine, trash pick-up
Telephone crews T.V station , cop and fire-fighters
Post-Office, power-plants and the emergency service
Who work day and night to run smooth the city’s life
History opens up how the miracle of human love
Spills over globally in time of cataclysm or crisis.
With courage and risk, during the period of pandemic
Blowing up fear these Good Samaritans are
The heroes of the decade 2020!
We offer our homage, and pray for their spirit “long live”!
