Sipra's Diary: Brand of New York

                                             Brand Of NewYork

What is the "Brand" of New York?

Just after  lightening it flushed in my mind :it's diversity.

Brand is a fascinating term of twenty-first century, though originated long ago. But in olden days it was associated specially  with fancy materials like watches, cars, crockery, costume & accessories perfume etc: a status symbol of upper echelon of society .

Industrial Age created revolutionary change in society by making luxury  goods  available to middle class. Middle class bulged in size in civilized advanced countries, which approves healthy sign for a land . It is this middle class who sustain and hold the  tradition,  culture, intellectual nutrition and value system of a country in given time .

Free trade, tourism,   digital communication, demographic change & "globalization" in totality is another giant leap  in modernization.

Even the land/country  themselves also claims "Brand". Some country attracts people as tourists for cynical beauty or historical importance, while  others as  health resorts  or for commercial products or businesses .

Diversity along flexibility is  the "Brand" of New York:  Truly "Land of the free!" is the background  tune of New York! "All roads lead  to Rome" is now replaced  by  'Everyone's dream  streams to spout in the land of the free'...............

An excerpt from my own poem:-

" New York or Nueva York!

We all love you from the heart!

                                      What mystical aptitude  you have

                                      To magnet the vast crowd

                                      To keep  enchanted in you?

Dream, destiny, fame or  fortune?  ....

                                     ...................................."
